OCIC is for children (usually age 7 or older) who were not baptized as infants and want to become Catholic. It is similar to OCIA but adapted for a child’s age and understanding. Children learn about God, Jesus, the Bible, prayer, and the Church in a clear and simple way. Parents are closely involved because they are the primary teachers of the faith. There is no pressure — families can learn and discern together. Children who continue will prepare to receive Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation.
